Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko eyes to increase the value of trade turnover between Tehran and Minsk to $250 million, IRNA news agency reported May 4 citing Iran's embassy in Belarus.
During the preliminary meeting of the Iran-Belarus joint commission which was held May 4, it was announced that the Belarus president pays a special attention to expanding relations with the Islamic Republic.
The current trade value of $75 million is expected to reach to $250 million within the next two years, via implementing mutual agreements, according to the report.
Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh and Belarusian Minister of Industries Vitaly Vovk are expected to sign a roadmap for expanding bilateral ties between Tehran and Minsk.
Nematzadeh, heading a 50-member delegation, arrived in the Belarusian capital to attend the two-day meeting of the joint commission in Minsk.
Iran-Belarus joint commission meeting which started on May 4 is discussing the expansion of bilateral cooperation in the areas of industry, economy and joint projects.
Tehran and Minsk have announced interest in cooperation in a range of fields including agricultural, fishery and medical equipment.
