Iran Khodro (IKCO), the Islamic Republic’s biggest automaker company, has manufactured over 98,020 passenger cars during the first two months of the current fiscal year (March 20 – May 21).
The figure is equal to 46 percent of the country’s passenger car market in the 2-month period, according to Iran’s industry ministry's report.
Saipa, the country’s second biggest automaker held 45 percent share of the overall passenger car output in Iran in two months, which was 214,293 units.
Iran’s passenger car output registered a rise by 32 percent year-on-year in the first two months of the current fiscal year.
Iran Khodro (IKCO) manufactured over 33,000 cars during the first Iranian fiscal month (March 20-April 20) and took a 41.8 percent share from the market, behind Saipa (with a share of 46.5 percent of Iran’s car production).
Iran’s car industry registered a production growth by 13.7 percent in the last fiscal year, ended March 20, 2018. Iranian auto manufacturers produced over 1.535 million cars during the 12-month period.
Iran manufactured 1.44 million passenger cars in last fiscal year, 14.8 percent more year-on-year.
IKCO share from the country’s passenger car output accounted to 48 percent in the last fiscal year.
