BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 15. The share of local-invested LLCs in last year’s e-registration in Azerbaijan was 94 percent.

The data obtained by Trend from the State Tax Service shows that of the 12,051 commercial organizations that have passed state registration, 9,780 were registered through Asan İmza, 2,221 through “fincode + mobile number,” and 50 were registered using the “SIMA” digital signature (a new generation of advanced digital signature based on the cloud, public key, and face recognition technologies).

As of January 1, 2025, 1.5 million taxpayers are registered in Azerbaijan, of which 87 percent are individuals, and 13 percent are legal entities and other organizations. Compared to the beginning of 2024, the total number of taxpayers increased by 5.4 percent, including an increase in the number of individuals by 5.1 percent and legal entities by 7.3 percent.

Meanwhile, 190,367 commercial organizations were registered, which is 8 percent more than in the previous year.

Last year, 14,441 new business entities were registered, of which 89.3 percent had local investment and 10.7 percent had foreign investment. At the same time, 83.4 percent of the registered organizations completed their registration electronically, and 16.6 percent based on paper applications.

As of January 1 this year, the number of active VAT payers among commercial organizations reached 40,416, which is 15.7 percent higher compared to the previous year. The share of VAT payers in the total number of registered organizations stands at 32.2 percent.

The commercial legal entities that have undergone state registration included 91.4 percent established as LLCs, 1.2 percent as joint-stock companies, 1.1 percent as cooperatives, and others.

As of January 1, 2025, 125,696 were active commercial organizations that have passed state registration, which is an 11.6 percent increase compared to the beginning of 2024.
