BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 19. Azerbaijan sent off a whopping 58,720 tons of fruits and vegetables, raking in a cool $60.5 million in January this year.
Data obtained by Trend from the country's State Customs Committee reveals that it is by $5.9 million (10.8 percent) more in value and 8,466 tons (17 percent) more in volume compared to the same month last year (49,606 tons worth $54.6 million).
Exports of fruits and vegetables for January 2025 amounted to 1.99 percent of the country's total imports and 24.61 percent of exports in the non-oil sector.
To note, this January, Azerbaijan exported potatoes (113 tons, $33,000), tomatoes (13,000 tons, $14.7 million), hazelnuts (2,000 tons, $14 million), apples (10,700 tons, $6.8 million), persimmon (26,100 tons, $19.3 million), and pomegranates (2,300 tons, $2 million).
