BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 14. A whopping 87 percent of 1,611,030 taxpayers registered in Azerbaijan on March 1 this year are individuals, and 13 percent are legal entities and other organizations, Trend reports via Azerbaijani State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy.
According to the data, the total number of taxpayers increased by 5.2 percent compared to the corresponding period last year, including the number of individuals - by 4.8 percent, and legal entities - by 7.5 percent. The number of registered commercial organizations increased by 8.2 percent to 192,945 as of March 1, 2025.
Moreover, it was noted that a total of 2,632 units of commercial organizations underwent state registration from January through February 2025, of which 89.6 percent with local investments and 10.4 percent with foreign investments. About 86.6 percent of commercial organizations were registered electronically. The share of electronic registration of local investment limited liability companies registered from January through February amounted to 96.9 percent.
As much as 90 percent of the commercial legal entities registered by the state are established in the form of limited liability companies, 1.1 percent - joint stock companies, 1.1 percent - cooperatives, etc.
