BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. Azerbaijan imported 22,936 vehicles from January through March 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee indicates that the cost of importing these vehicles amounted to $400.3 million.
Meanwhile, the country's vehicle imports increased by 3,365 vehicles, or 17.2 percent, while the value of imports rose by $40.2 million, or 10.9 percent, compared to the same period of 2024 (19,571 vehicles worth $361 million).
Moreover, the country imported motor vehicles designed to carry more than ten people during this period, including 112 units worth $9.5 million. Additionally, 20,946 passenger cars and other motor vehicles, primarily for passenger transport, were imported, valued at $357.3 million.
It is worth noting that from January through March this year, Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover increased by 24.3 percent, totaling $12 billion.
The data shows that the country’s exports rose by 6.7 percent, or $401.75 million, reaching $6.4 billion, while imports grew by 52.6 percent, or $1.9 billion, reaching $5.7 billion.
The foreign trade turnover showed a positive balance of $722.9 million during this period, which is $5.1 billion, or 3.1 times lower than the same period last year.
