Tax incentives in Azerbaijan have reached 30 percent of the total volume of public budget revenues in tax bodies in 2011.
Tax Ministry Policy and Strategic Research Department head Akif Musayev made the statement during public discussions on transparency and advanced tax administration technologies on Thursday.
The budget received 5.5 billion manat through the ministry in 2011.
"For instance, if one cancels incentives provided to the country's agricultural sector, then the budget may receive additional 300 million manat per year," Musayev said.
Producers of agricultural products in Azerbaijan pay only tax for land and are exempted from other eight types of taxes.
The official exchange rate is 0.7864 manat to $1 on Feb.23.
