The Iranian administration has approved a bill for increasing salaries of retired employees by 25 percent in the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 21, the Mehr News Agency reported.
On March 18, IRNA quoted Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as saying that Iran will increase salaries of civil servants and retired employees at least 20 percent in the current Iranian calendar year.
The Iranian parliament (Majlis) has approved a bill, based on which the administration will be allowed to receive and pay 410 trillion rials (about $33 billion) during the first quarter of the current Iranian calendar year in accordance with the next year's national budget bill.
The sum will be used by the administration to pay salaries of civil servants as well as run current affairs of government organizations.
On February 27, the Iranian administration submitted the 7,300 trillion rials (about $595.4 billion) budget bill for the next Iranian calendar year.
The proposed budget has increased by 22 percent compared to the year before.
