US Valmont Industries to implement several projects in Uzbekistan in the field of irrigation systems development, Trend reports citing Dunyo News Agency.
The issue was discussed during negotiations between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan in US Javlon Vahabov and Vice President of Valmont Industries Joshua Dixon.
During the meeting, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan informed about priority directions of the adopted Strategy of Development of Agriculture of Uzbekistan for the period from 2020 through 2030.
Valmont Industries' vice president noted that the company has been striving to establish close and mutually beneficial investment and technological cooperation with Central Asian countries, particularly Uzbekistan.
Dixon said the significant increase of bilateral cooperation in the future will allow turning Uzbekistan into a Central Asian hub on production and maintenance of sprinkler irrigation equipment.
As part of negotiations with Valmont, an agreement has been reached on the implementation of two promising projects in agriculture sector of Uzbekistan.
The first is a pilot project on creation of smart irrigation economy in Navoi/Tashkent region, which envisages introduction of innovative system of agricultural land irrigation with the help of circular sprinkler system using advanced Valley technology and attraction of $150,000 foreign direct investment by Valmont at the first stage.
The second is a pilot project to establish a modern Irrigation Training Center in Uzbekistan that will provide education, training and training to specialists in irrigation, water resources management and agriculture.
Valmont Industries is a world leader in design and production of efficient irrigation equipment for agriculture, industry and municipal services. It has 87 production facilities in 22 countries, annual revenue is $2.8 billion. The company's production facilities are located in Nebraska.
