Bavaria is interested in deepening cooperation with Uzbekistan and is ready to support the implementation of joint projects in various fields, Trend reports citing Dunyo News Agency.
The issue was revealed during negotiations of Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Germany Nabijon Kasimov with Vice Minister in the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy Roland Weigert.
During the talks it was noted that currently 133 Bavarian companies are cooperating with Uzbekistan. In particular, such companies from this region of Germany as Bionorica SE, HORN Glass Industries AG, Knauf International GmbH, MAN Truck&Bus SE, Linde AG, Protec Automation GmbH, SAP SE, Siemens Energy, Falk-Porsche-Technik GmbH, Roland Berger Gmb", as well as Bayerische Landesbank and others are successfully operating in Uzbekistan.
As Weigert noted, the Bavarian government had previously planned a number of special events, but because of the coronavirus pandemic many of them had to be postponed.
Thus, in May 2020 it was planned to hold Central Asian Economic Forum in Munich, where a large number of local entrepreneurs showed interest in participation. Mutual visits of business delegations to Uzbekistan and Bavaria were also to take place.
Noting that the Bavarian side is interested in further deepening cooperation with Uzbekistan and is ready to support the implementation of joint projects in various spheres, Roland Weigert also stressed that the Bavarian government intends to hold joint events previously canceled due to quarantine restrictions as soon as the situation allows.
The prospects of development of industrial clusters and industrial parks in Uzbekistan with participation of Bavarian companies and financial institutions became a separate subject of negotiations. At the same time it was emphasized that the system of clusters, which brought together representatives of business circles, research and educational institutions, in many ways became the key to success and Bavarian business.
In particular, at present 17 technological clusters are successfully operating in Bavaria. The most successful is BioRegioMunich Biotechnology Cluster, which consists of 300 organizations, including 166 small and medium-sized businesses, 35 large biotechnology companies, 34 pharmaceutical companies and 58 research organizations.
Roland Weigert underlined that Bavarian companies are ready to share their experience in organizing and managing industrial parks and clusters.
As a result of negotiations, an agreement was reached on establishing close cooperation between relevant organizations of Uzbekistan and Bavaria dealing with export promotion issues.
Prospects of bilateral cooperation in the sphere of information technologies, in particular, establishment of partnership between profile educational institutions on organization of trainings and implementation of startup-projects were discussed.
Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached on holding a series of videoconferences in the near future with the participation of interested Uzbek and Bavarian institutions and companies to discuss and agree on joint projects.
