BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 16. The total volume of Azerbaijan's public debt as of July 1 this year amounted to 25.6 billion manat ($15 billion), Trend reports, referring to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Finance.
According to the information, out of the mentioned volume, 16.5 billion manat ($9.7 billion) fell on domestic public debt and 9.1 billion manat (or $5.37 billion) on external public debt.
The Ministry of Finance notes that the growth of domestic public borrowings (through the purchase of securities inside the country) stimulates the development of the securities market and forms medium- and long-term management of public debt.
