BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 9. The producer price index (PPI) of industrial products decreased by 0.6 percent in April 2023 compared to the previous month in Kazakhstan, Trend reports via the Kazakh Bureau of National Statistics.
In terms of the PPI of industrial products by type of economic activity, a decrease of 2.2 percent was recorded in the mining and quarrying sector. In addition, Kazakhstan's processing industry also saw a decrease of 0.2 percent in April compared to March.
Additionally, it was reported that the PPI for the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water, and air-conditioning in Kazakhstan rose by 0.1 percent, while the PPI for electricity generation, electric power transmission, electricity distribution, and electricity sales remained unchanged.
Furthermore, the PPI for water supply, waste collection, treatment and disposal, and pollution elimination activities increased by 0.3 percent.
In terms of food production, the producer price index in this category saw a decrease of 1.3 percent.
The PPI of metallurgical production in Kazakhstan also declined by 0.8 percent, while that of production of basic precious and non-ferrous metals increased by 1.4 percent.
