Kyrgyz electric transformer exports decrease in volume, increase in value

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, April 7. Kyrgyzstan exported 1,566 electric transformers in January 2024, with a value totaling $671,500, Trend reports.

According to data from Kyrgyzstan’s State Statistical Committee, the volume of exports decreased by 23.6 percent year-on-year (2,051 transformers exported in January 2023), while the value increased by 90.5 percent compared to $352,428 in the same month of 2023.

Except for minor exports to Sweden (6 transformers) and China (5 transformers), the entire volume was sent to Russia.

Kyrgyzstan's trade with Russia reached $194.871 million in January 2024, which is an 8-percent increase compared to January 2023, when trade stood at $180.484 million.

Exports from Kyrgyzstan to Russia amounted to $30.679 million in January 2024, a 21.9 percent decrease from January 2023's figure of $39.263 million. Imports surged to $164.192 million in January 2024, which is a 16.3 percent increase from January 2023's $141.220 million.

Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $1.168 billion in January 2024, a 36.8 percent increase compared to January 2023. Exports amounted to $181.3 million, which is a 46.6 percent increase year-on-year. Imports increased by 35.1 percent compared to January 2023, reaching $987.5 million.
