DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, March 25. Tajikistan's annual inflation rate remained unchanged at 3.7 percent in February 2025, Trend reports.
The data obtained by Trend from the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT), shows a slight increase from January's rate of 3.6 percent. Monthly, inflation rose by 0.4 percent in February, up from 0.3 percent in January.
The NBT also set the annual refinancing rate at 8.75 percent, effective from February 10, 2025.
The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) noted that the moderate inflation trend is largely attributed to the stability of the national currency and low import inflationary pressures. Despite this, the EDB forecasted a slight uptick in inflation by the end of 2025, driven by strong domestic demand. However, they expect inflation to remain within the NBT's target range of 5±2 percent.
In 2024, Tajikistan's inflation rate stood at 3.6 percent, 0.2 percentage points lower than the 3.8 percent recorded in 2023. Inflation was at 4.2 percent in 2022.
