TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 26. The number of Uzbek tourists visiting South Korea amounted to 23,900 in 2024.
According to the data obtained by Trend from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency, this figure has increased by 29.1 percent year on year.
Tourism from Uzbekistan to South Korea was most commonly for leisure (16,205 people), followed by visiting family (5,142 people), studying (2,077 people), business (427 people), and medical (58 people).
Meanwhile, tourist traffic from Uzbekistan from January through November 2024 totaled 5.7 million people. This figure increased by 31.3 percent (1.3 million people) compared to the same period last year.
In general, the most popular tourist destination for Uzbek citizens was Kyrgyzstan, with 2.7 million visitors. In second place was Tajikistan, with 1.1 million visitors, followed by Kazakhstan with 888,600 visitors
