A blowout at Dehloran oil field's well 27 on the Gachsaran Formation has been capped, Shana news agency reported.
The eruption came at as drilling the oil well reached 2,474 feet. Water and salt crystals gushing from the well stopped drilling operations at the site early Sunday morning.
A capping team from the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) was called to the site and stopped the flow.
Dehloran oil field is located in the western Ilam Province
