Iran unveils volume of non-oil imports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 26. Iran's imports of non-oil products amounted to $32.6 billion during the six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2024), Iran's Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance and Director General of Customs Administration Mohammad Rezvanifar told reporters, Trend reported.

According to him, Iran imported products mainly worth $10 billion from the UAE, $8.5 billion from China, $5.1 billion from Türkiye, $1.2 billion from Germany, $800 million from Russia, $800 million from India, and $600 million from Hong Kong during the six months.

Rezvanifar added that taking into account imports and exports, Iran's main partners in non-oil trade are China with $15.7 billion, the UAE with $13.4 billion, and Türkiye with $7.5 billion over six months.

The official noted that Iran imported mainly essential goods worth $9.1 billion during the period.

To note, Iran mainly focuses on importing essential goods needed by the country when importing products and imposes certain restrictions on importing products manufactured in the country.
