Export and import operations via Iran's Northwest regional railroad increase

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 11. The volume of products exported by Iran's Northwest Regional Railway increased by 100 percent during eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through November 21, 2023), the Director General of Iran's Northwest Regional Railways Authority Manouchehr Safari said, Trend reports.

According to him, about 67,600 tons of products were exported through the North-West Regional Railway during eight months.

Safari noted that about 99,000 tons of products were imported to the country through this railroad during eight months.

The official noted that mining goods, iron ore concentrate, wheat, rebar, and iron ingot are mainly exported and imported goods.

To note, Iran's Northwest Regional Railway Authority oversees Qazvin, Zanjan, East Azerbaijan, and West Azerbaijan railroads. The total length of the railroad under the control of this directorate is 601 kilometers.
