An Iranian firm plans to mass-produce a new generation of domestically-made remote terminal units (RTUs).
Titled AMS-R4000, the new RTUs are different and advanced in terms of input and output ports, protocols, and modulations, director general of the company, Mohammad Ababafha, announced, ISNA news agency said.
He added plans are underway to mass-produce the new RTUs, which also enjoy powerful CPUs and the latest global standards.
Ababafha further said the firm plans to export its products to South Africa, Malaysia and Vietnam in the near future.
A remote terminal unit (RTU) is a multipurpose device used for remote monitoring and control of various devices and systems for automation. It is typically deployed in an industrial environment and serves a similar purpose to programmable logic circuits (PLCs) but to a higher degree.
