Decline of Iran’s car output continued in the last calendar month, ended Aug. 22, according to the latest data released by Iran’s industry ministry.
Iranian auto manufacturers produced over 89,450 various cars during the one-month period from July 22 to Aug. 22, 38 percent less, year-on-year.
According to the official statistics, the country manufactured 83,787 passenger cars in the same span of time, 38.2 percent less compared to the same month of the preceding year.
Iranian car makers produced 4,393 pick-ups in the period, registering a fall by 37.9 percent in comparison with the same period of the preceding year.
Meanwhile the country’s minibus output witnessed rise by 96.8 percent to 183, however the bus output registered a fall by 63.3 percent, year-on-year.
Iranian auto makers manufactured 59 buses in the fifth calendar month of the current fiscal year.
Iran’s van output registered a 184.2 percent growth and stood at 162 vehicles in the one-month period. In the same time, the country’s truck output decreased by 33.3 percent and stood at 866 units.
Iran’s auto industry registered a production fall by 9.5 percent in the first five months of the current fiscal year, started March 20, 2018 and witnessed production of 525,586 cars.
Iranian car manufacturers produced 1.535 million vehicles in last fiscal year, 13.7 percent more year-on-year.
Iran manufactured 1.44 million passenger cars in the 12-month period, which was 14.8 percent more compared to the preceding year.
Over 1.350 million cars were produced in Iran in the Iranian fiscal year to March 20, 2017.
Iran’s car output reached 982,337 units in 2015, according to the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA). The figure indicated a 9.9-percent fall compared to the preceding year.
