The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) will sign an agreement with the Iranian company Petro Pars for the expansion of Balal Gas Field, NIOC Deputy Executive Director Reza Dehgan said, Trend reports via Shana News Agency.
According to the NIOC deputy director, the agreement will be sign in the upcoming week.
The value of the agreement id $440 million, Dehgan said.
Upon the expansion of Balal Gas Field, the field will produce 14.1 million cubic meters of sour gas per day, he added.
The produced gas will be transported to the platform C, and then to the phase 12 of South Pars Gas Field to be refined.
Iran's Balal Gas Field is located 40 kilometers south-east of South Pars Gas Field in the Persian Gulf.
The expansion of the field is expected to be finished within a period of 24 months.
