Iran sets sights on expanding industrial enterprises in Markazi Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 2. A total of 96.6 trillion rials (about $169 million) were spent on the establishment of industrial enterprises in Markazi Province, located in the center of Iran, during the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2024 through March 20, 2025), Director-General of the Industry, Mining and Trade Organization in Markazi Province Ali Joudaki told reporters, Trend reports.

He said that 13,300 people were employed in the 314 industrial enterprises licensed for operation.

Joudaki mentioned that in the last Iranian year, non-oil products worth $1.6 billion were exported from Markazi Province to various countries, which is an unprecedented indicator in the province's non-oil product exports.

The organization's official said that taking into account the non-oil product exports from the province last year, non-oil product exports from the province are expected to increase to $2 billion in the current year (from March 21, 2025, through March 20, 2026).

To note, over 2,800 different enterprises are operating in Markazi Province, the second province in Iran's industrial sector.
