Iran's South Pars сompany elevates domestic gas supply volume

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 6. The volume of gas supply to Iran's gas network by the South Pars Gas Complex Company grew by six billion cubic meters (bcm), or 3.1 percent, last Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025) compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), the company's CEO Gholamabbas Hosseini told reporters, Trend reports.

He said that in the reporting year, this figure amounted to 196 bcm compared to the previous year (190 bcm).

Hosseini mentioned that Last year, South Pars Gas Company delivered the highest daily gas volume to the country's gas network on February 3, 2025. On that day, 610 million cubic meters of gas were delivered to the country's gas network, which is a record figure in the history of South Pars Gas Company.

The official added that last year, the company produced 243 million barrels of gas condensate, 606,000 tons of sulfur, 2.5 million tons of butane, 3.7 million tons of propane, and 1.8 million tons of ethane.

To note, South Pars Gas Complex Company obtains 650 million cubic meters of rich gas daily from the South Pars gas field. A total of 580 million cubic meters of gas is processed and transferred to the country's gas network. The company also produces 780,000 barrels of gas condensate, 15,000 tons of ethane, 15,000 tons of propane, 10,000 tons of butane, and 2,500 tons of sulfur daily.

The South Pars gas field (called North Dome in Qatar) is a joint gas field of Iran and Qatar. The proven reserves of the South Pars Gas Field are estimated at 51 trillion cubic meters of gas, of which 36 trillion are extractable. Iran's share in the field is 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of gas condensate.
