BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 7. The production of passenger vehicles by Iran’s Saipa Automotive Manufacturing Company saw a notable decrease of 4,552 units, or 25 percent, during the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through April 20, 2025), compared to the same month last year (from March 20 through April 19, 2024).
Data obtained by Trend from a report published by Codal.ir, a comprehensive database under Iran's Securities and Exchange Organization, shows that Saipa produced just over 13,000 (13,176) passenger cars, marking a decline of roughly a quarter compared to the same period last year. The company had manufactured over 17,700 (17,728) vehicles in the corresponding month of the previous year.
The report states that Saipa's production figures included 1,960 units of the Shahin model, 2,140 of the Changan model, and 9,070 vehicles from the X200 group, which includes the Tiba, Quick, and Saina models.
A report published by Codal.ir shows that, Iran’s three main automakers — Iran Khodro (IKCO), SAIPA, and Pars Khodro — produced a combined total of 46,703 passenger vehicles during the period. This marks a small rise from the 45,916 units produced during the same month last year.
