Trend News Agency in Claude and other AI assistants

Trend News Agency runs a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, so you can search and read our reporting from inside Claude and other AI assistants. The assistant looks through our archive of around 2.6 million articles published since 2003 in English, Azerbaijani and Russian, quotes what we actually reported and links back to the article on trend.az. Connecting is free and needs no account.
How to connect
- Claude on the web, desktop and mobile: open Trend News Agency in the Claude connectors directory and connect it. In Claude you will also find it under Customize → Connectors.
- Any other MCP client: add a custom connector with the address

What you can ask
Once connected, ask in your own words, for example:
- “What has Trend reported about the Middle Corridor this month?”
- “Summarise Trend’s latest coverage of Azerbaijani gas exports to Europe, with links.”
- “What is Trend leading with right now?”
- “Which Trend journalist covers energy in Central Asia, and what have they written recently?”
- “How does Trend handle corrections?”
Behind these questions the server offers thirteen tools: search that returns the passage answering your question, keyword search, the latest headlines, full article text, the front page as our editors arrange it, the most-read articles, section lookup, journalist profiles and byline statistics, our policy pages, a description of our coverage, current subscription prices, and an access check. All of them only read published material; the server cannot change anything.
Paid articles
Articles for Trend Premium subscribers published within the last twelve months are not returned in full: the assistant receives their headline, summary and link, and tells you that the full text is for subscribers. After a year a paid article becomes free on trend.az, and the server then returns it in full, like any free article. See subscription prices.
Using our material
- Our articles may be used to answer your questions, with attribution to “Trend News Agency (trend.az)” and a link to the article.
- Quoting to answer a question is fine; republishing our archive is not.
- Our content may not be used to train AI models.

Limits
The service is free and has a fair-use budget: 20 requests a second across all users, and 600 requests an hour and 10,000 a day per IP address. The per-address limit is not applied to the shared addresses of hosted AI products such as Claude, where one address serves many people. Each answer is kept under 60 KB.
Privacy
Connecting does not require an account, and the server does not ask for or keep any personal information. It receives only what the assistant sends it — search terms and article identifiers — and does not record them. To apply the limits it counts requests per IP address; the address is stored only as a one-way keyed hash, and the counters expire after a day. Like any website, our web server keeps a standard access log (address and time of each request, not its content) for seven days. Your conversation itself stays with your assistant.
