BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 17. The main goal of the joint project of Azerbaijan Microfinance Association (AMFA) and the EU "Support Youth in Entrepreneurship" is to increase financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills among young people, Chairman of the Board of Directors at AMFA, Jalal Aliyev told Trend.
"Seminars for financial literacy trainers were organized in order to increase local capacity within the framework of the implementation of financial literacy programs in Azerbaijan’s Baku, Ganja, Gabala, Mingachevir, Khachmaz, Gakh, Zagatala, Masalli," he said.
Aliyev noted that 146 people took part in them and 96 teachers were accredited to teach financial literacy to students during the project.
"Survey was also conducted among teachers on the topic "Financial Health Check" and 63 teachers took part in the survey. Results of survey and recommendations were presented to respondents," Aliyev emphasized.
Webinars were held for teachers to improve their financial situation during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has reduced household incomes.
A total of 48 teachers from Baku, Ganja, Gabala, Mingachevir, Khachmaz, Gakh, Zagatala and Masalli took part in them, he said.
According to Aliyev, a survey was conducted of 48 teachers from the above regions of the country in order to assess digital skills and knowledge in preparation for online learning.
Based on the results of the survey, the training program "Digital Literacy" was developed on the usage of ZOOM, and PowerPoint software programs.
