BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 10. Azerbaijan's GDP grew by 4.3 percent from January through June 2024 compared to the same period of 2023 reaching 59.52 billion manat ($35.01 billion), Trend reports.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, in 2024, the value added in the non-oil sector increased by 6.9 percent, while in the oil and gas sector, it grew by 0.6 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
In the GDP structure, industry accounted for 38.5 percent.
The State Statistics Committee data shows that in the GDP structure, 9.7 percent came from trade and vehicle repair, seven percent from transportation and warehousing, 5.8 percent from construction, 5.8 percent from agriculture, forestry and fish farming, 2.4 percent from the tourism sector and 1.7 percent from information and communication. Other sectors of the economy accounted for 19.5 percent of GDP.
Net import tax revenue amounted to 9.6 percent of GDP during the period.
In the reporting period of 2024, GDP per capita in Azerbaijan amounted to 5,840 manat or $3,435.
To note, Azerbaijan's GDP in 2023 increased by 1.1 percent compared to 2022 reaching 123 billion manat or $72.353 billion.
