BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 10. A total of 160.2 million manat ($94.2 million) from part of VAT for goods purchased in retail trade or catering facilities (except for oil products, cars, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco products), as well as for medical services provided by medical institutions and individuals engaged in private medical practice, have been returned to consumers who are individuals in the period from January through November of this year, Trend reports via the State Tax Service of Azerbaijan.
According to the information, as a result of the implementation of the project on return of a part of VAT, the share of non-cash payments in the sphere of retail trade, catering, and medical services has significantly increased.
Furthermore, as a result of the expansion of the scope of this project, the process of refunding part of the paid VAT for residential and non-residential plots purchased in non-cash order by consumers who are individuals or persons engaged in construction activities in the country continues. The amount of part of VAT refunded for residential and non-residential plots purchased in cashless order amounted to more than 21.3 million manat ($12.5 million) in the period from January through November 2024.
