ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 15. Chinese company East Hope Group is carrying out a project for the production and deep processing of non-ferrous metals in Kazakhstan, Trend reports.

Chairman of the Board of JSC “NC ‘KAZAKH INVEST’ Yerzhan Yelekeev held a meeting with the General Director of East Hope Group (EHG) Changjun Meng, which discussed the prospects for cooperation in the production and deep processing of non-ferrous metals.

EHG plans to build a large industrial park within the framework of its investment project in Kazakhstan, which will introduce advanced technologies in non-ferrous metallurgy for deep processing and production of finished products. The cost of the project may exceed $12 billion. In addition, the world leader in aluminum and silicon production plans to supply products to the EU, Central Asia, and China. It is expected that up to 10,000 new jobs will be created at various stages of the project.

Changjun Meng noted that the company has registered a subsidiary in Kazakhstan, which will serve as the main operational center of the project, coordinating further steps for its implementation.

''Preliminary geodetic and hydrogeological studies of land plots in several regions have already been conducted, and the company plans to begin a more detailed study of the territory shortly,'' Meng added.

Yelekeyev emphasized the importance of the project for the development of Kazakhstan’s processing industry and noted that its implementation would be a significant step in strengthening economic ties with international partners.

"Attracting major strategic investors like East Hope Group opens new prospects for Kazakhstan. We view this project not only in terms of investment volumes but also in the context of introducing advanced technologies, creating new jobs, and localizing production. The implementation of the project will allow Kazakhstan to take a key position in the global supply chain of non-ferrous metals and significantly expand the export of finished products. We are ready to provide comprehensive support and create favorable conditions for the successful realization of investments," Yelekeyev emphasized.

The parties also discussed the prospect of signing an investment agreement that would define the main conditions of cooperation and solidify the commitments of both sides. In particular, EHG expressed its readiness to sign a trilateral framework agreement with Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Industry and Construction, marking an important stage in the project's development.

Following the meeting, Yerzhan Yelekeyev and Changjun Meng expressed confidence in the successful implementation of the initiative and highlighted Kazakhstan’s high potential as an industrial hub for non-ferrous metal production and deep processing.

To note, East Hope Group is one of the world’s largest producers in the field of metallurgy and technological innovations. The company has invested approximately $10 billion in the construction of low-carbon industrial complexes in China and continues to expand its international presence.
