BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 18. There was a big jump in Azerbaijan's joint tourism services turnover in 2024—it went up by almost 38 percent and reached $3.6 billion.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan indicates that during this period, the export of tourism services, valued at $2 billion, exceeded imports, which amounted to $1.6 billion. As a result, a surplus of $450.3 million was achieved.
Moreover, there was a notable uptick of 15.5 percent in the outbound mobility of Azerbaijani nationals, concurrently accompanied by a significant influx of foreign tourists to Azerbaijan, which surged by 25.9 percent. The aggregate value of tourism services rendered to Azerbaijani nationals by international entities reached $1.6 billion, with a substantial 79.1 percent of this total attributable to individual travel expenditures by Azerbaijani citizens (excluding financial allocations for shuttle imports).
