BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 16. Azerbaijan's solar power plants produced 112.5 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity in the first quarter of 2025, Trend reports via the preliminary data from the Ministry of Energy.
This marks a 23 million kWh (25.7 percent) increase compared to the same period last year (89.5 million kWh).
Azerbaijan produced 7.17 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity in the first quarter of 2025.
This marks a 0.6 percent—or 42.5 million kWh— increase compared to the same period last year (7.13 billion kWh).
During the reporting period, thermal power plants accounted for the bulk of production at 6.32 billion kWh, followed by hydropower plants with 669.6 million kWh.
Electricity generation from other sources reached 183.9 million kWh, including 112.5 million kWh from solar, 9.5 million kWh from wind, and 61.9 million kWh from the 'waste-to-energy' plant.
