BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 27. Iran’s southwestern Khuzestan province, specifically the Abadan district, exported 1,600 tons of agricultural products to Kuwait in the second month of the current Iranian year (from April 21 through May 21, 2025), said Hosein Dashtinejad, Head of the Abadan Agricultural Department, Trend reports.
Speaking to local media, Dashtinejad noted that the main exports during this period included legumes, okra, pistachios, and other products. These goods were shipped through Abadan’s Arvand Kenar, Chevibde, and Abadan ports, as well as Ayatollah Jami International Airport.
The official noted that agricultural exports from Abadan district are expected to increase this year.
To note, more than 13,000 tons of agricultural goods—including onions, potatoes, dates, watermelons, okra, and saffron—were exported from Abadan during the previous Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025).
