BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. Around 1.47 billion manat ($861 million) worth of motor gasoline and diesel fuel were sold to consumers through Azerbaijan’s retail trade network from January through May 2025.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee shows that this figure grew by 7.2 percent compared to the same period in 2024.
Motor gasoline and diesel fuel sales made up 6.3 percent of total retail turnover.
Overall, 23.3 billion manat ($13.7 billion) worth of goods were sold in retail, including 13.1 billion manat ($7.7 billion) in food, beverages, and tobacco, and 10.3 billion manat ($6 billion) in non-food products. Compared to the first five months of 2024, total retail turnover rose by 3.8 percent, with food-related sales up 1.6 percent and non-food sales growing 6.5 percent.
