BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 8. The Kazakhstan–Netherlands Agricultural Working Group serves as a platform for deeper cooperation, continuous dialogue, and the exchange of technology and knowledge, Giulia Cretti, Research Associate at the Clingendael Institute, told Trend in an exclusive interview.
She noted that agriculture is the second largest sector of Kazakh-Dutch cooperation after energy.
The official emphasized that Kazakhstan’s vast agricultural land and resources, paired with the Netherlands’ technological leadership in sustainable farming, greenhouse systems, and seed innovation, make the two countries well-matched partners.
“While Kazakhstan has vast agricultural land and resources, the Netherlands is considered a technological leader in sustainable agriculture, greenhouses, and seeds. This makes the Netherlands a natural partner for knowledge exchange, joint projects, and the application of innovative solutions to improve the resilience of crops and adapt to climate change,” Cretti said.
Recent data from Kazakhstan’s Bureau of National Statistics shows the gross output for agriculture, forestry, and fisheries reached $3.4 billion from January to June 2025, with a physical volume index of 103.7 percent compared to the same period last year.
