In 2010, Azerbaijan imported more than 51,800 cars, which is 18.3 percent less than the index in 2009, the State Statistics Committee said on Wednesday.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the total cost of imported cars last year amounted to about $451.5 million, which is one percent less than the index in 2009.
Last year, Azerbaijan imported 4,402,000 trucks, which is 28.1 percent less than the index in 2009. The total value of imported cars totaled $106.87 million, which is 5.3 percent more than last year.
Also the country imported 849 buses in 2010, which is 17.6 percent less than the index in 2009. Buses worth about $41 million were imported in this period, which is 20.2 percent less than the same period last year.
In January this year Azerbaijan produced 110 trucks. Also the country produced 72 cars in this period, which is 2.6 times more compared to the figure of January 2010.
