Uzbekistan will implement projects for production of prosthetic and orthopedic products and rehabilitation equipment in the free economic zones and small industrial zones, Uzbek media reported referring to the decree of the president of Uzbekistan
The document also provides for measures to expand variety and improve quality of prosthetic and orthopedic products and rehabilitation equipment manufactured in Uzbekistan.
The decree outlines specific tasks to create substantial scientific and methodological base that ensures further development of production, deepening scientific research in the field of providing medical and social assistance, training and retraining personnel, and broadly implementing international production standards.
To implement complex measures, Uzbekistan is planning to attract and employ leading foreign enterprises in production of prosthetic and orthopedic products and rehabilitation equipment, foreign investments and grants, loans and trust funds of international financial institutions, foreign government funds and organizations.
The ruling Uzbek Liberal Democratic Party noted that this decree will serve to radically improve quality of healthcare sphere based on the principles of public-private partnership, will meet the demand for private medicine in high quality medical services, introduce more effective and modern technologies and innovations in the healthcare, and create an atmosphere of healthy competition in the sphere of rendering qualified medical care to the population.
