Turkmenistan’s Serdar cotton-spinning mill has produced more than 400 tons of cotton products since the beginning of 2020, Trend reports with reference to the Business Turkmenistan information portal.
More than 1,220 tons of cotton yarn were produced in the mill in the reporting period. Manufactured products were sent both in the domestic and foreign markets of Turkmenistan.
Also in 2020, along with cotton yarn, the factory launched the production of cotton wool from textile materials.
Serdar cotton-spinning mill is one of the first cotton spinning enterprises of the domestic textile industry.
Turkmen cotton yarn is in great demand among large companies in the UAE, the US, Turkey and other countries, and textiles are among the most popular export products on the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan.
Turkmenistan currently exports more than 70 percent of textile products to foreign markets.
One of the textile exporters in Turkmenistan is the Ashgabat Textile Complex, which provides the country's domestic markets with textile products, producing a variety of export-oriented goods.
Turkmenistan annually grows more than one million tons of cotton, which serves as a raw material base for the development of the textile industry.
A significant part of Turkmenistan's products exported abroad are home textiles, sports and denim clothing.
