BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 6. The value and volume of non-oil products exported from Iran’s Abadan customs in Khuzestan Province have increased significantly in the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2023), Customs Inspector of Khuzestan Province Behrouz Gharabeigi said, Trend reports.

Gharabeigi noted that the non-oil exports reached $58.1 million in value and 150,000 tons in volume, which are 105 percent and 369 percent higher than the same period last year, respectively.

He added that the main export items were fish and fishery products, fruits and vegetables, construction materials, etc., which were mainly destined for the Persian Gulf countries, especially Kuwait.

Overall, Iran’s overall non-oil exports reached $28.3 billion in value and 79.5 million tons in volume in the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2023). Compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, the value of non-oil exports decreased by 1 percent, while the volume increased by 29.3 percent.

Iran’s non-oil exports do not include crude oil, mazut, and white oil, which are subject to US sanctions that prevent Iran from exporting them freely. Therefore, Iran has been focusing on increasing its non-oil exports to cope with the economic pressure.
