Power plants will be built in two Turkish provinces, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey.
The ministry noted that a solar power station will be built in the country's Antalya province, and a hydroelectric power station in Ordu province.
Land plots will be bought for the construction of generating facilities in these provinces, and power plants will be located in these plots, according to the ministry.
The ministry also noted that the total construction cost of the solar power plant in Antalya will amount to $10 million.
The solar power station will cover an area of 11 hectares, where photovoltaic batteries will be placed.
However, the ministry did not specify the construction cost of hydroelectric power plant in Ordu.
Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources had earlier said that Turkey plans to invest $1 billion in the development of renewable energy sources.
The construction of new power plants will strengthen Turkey's energy security and reduce its dependence on other countries, according to the Ministry.
The new project on the development of renewable energy sources will provide jobs for about 3,750 people.
