The floating system Single Point Mooring (SPM) manufactured at the Jask oil terminal in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) for the export of crude oil, will be sent to the terminal for emergency oil exports, administrator of Jask oil terminal, Vahid Maleki, Trend reports citing Pars Oil and Gas Company’s website.
According to Maleki, the system was manufactured by the Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company.
Maleki added that necessary tests have been carried out on the SPM system and it will be loaded in 10 months of current Iranian year (December 21, 2020 - January 19, 2021) and sent to the relevant places.
The construction of the 1,000-kilometer Goureh-Jask oil pipeline project worth more than $1.8 billion has been outsourced to local manufacturers and contractors. The Jask oil terminal is the last point of the Goureh-Jask pipeline on the transportation of crude oil. It is planned to transport 1 million barrels of crude oil per day via the pipeline.
According to the program, the pipeline will be commissioned next year (begins March 21, 2021). One unit of Crude Oil Custody Transfer Metering System, 2 units of 36-inch pipelines, and 1 of unit floating system Single Point Mooring (SPM) will be put into operation 1st phase of Jask terminal.
It is also planned to build a 30 million-barrel oil storage facility on 460 hectares at the Iranian Jask oil terminal. As part of this program, a storage facility for 10 million barrels of oil is being built.
