Iran will start exporting crude oil from the Gulf of Oman for the first time through the Jask oil terminal in the next year (to start March 21, 2021), administrator of Jask oil terminal, Vahid Maleki said, Trend reports citing Pars Oil and Gas Company’s website.
According to Maleki, currently, there is 75-percent progress in the construction work of the Jask oil terminal, and 90 percent of the materials related to this terminal have been provided.
Maleki added that the first stage of laying a pipeline from the export terminal to the floating system was completed yesterday on Jan. 27 and a 6 km long pipeline was laid.
The official noted that the laying of 6 units 36-inch pipelines with a total length of 45 km at the terminal are planned. These pipelines will be laid by the end of this month (February 18).
A part of the Goureh-Jask crude pipeline project is the development of the Jask oil terminal. As part of the development of the terminal, three units 48-inch pipelines will be laid onshore, six units 36-inch pipelines offshore, and 3 floating systems Single Point Mooring (SPM) will be put into operation. The development plan for the Jask oil terminal is planned to be completed by the end of next Iranian year (March 21, 2022).
The construction of the 1,000-kilometer Goureh-Jask oil pipeline project worth more than $1.8 billion has been outsourced to local manufacturers and contractors. It is planned to transport 1 million barrels of crude oil per day via the pipeline.
