The construction work on the first 148-kilemeter part of Iran's Goureh-Jask crude oil pipeline has been completed, an official of Iran’s Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC), Samad Azarpeyk said, Trend reports citing the National Iranian Oil Company’s website.
According to Azarpeyk, at the end, a 1,100-meter long pipeline was laid yesterday on March 30.
“The first part of the Goureh-Jask crude oil pipeline begins at pumping station No. 1 in the Genaveh County of Bushehr Province (southern Iran) and ends at pumping station No. 2 near the Ahrom city in the Ramhormoz County of Khuzestan Province,” he added.
The official said that despite heavy rainfall in the winter, as well as the fact that the pipeline passes through difficult areas, any delays in construction were prevented. In addition, a number of other oil and gas pipelines pass through these areas.
The construction of the 1,000-kilometer Goureh-Jask oil pipeline project worth more than $1.8 billion has been outsourced to local manufacturers and contractors. It is planned to transport 1 million barrels of crude oil per day via the pipeline.
