The first pump was put into operation at pumping station No. 2 on the Goureh-Jask pipeline, Iran's longest crude oil pipeline yesterday on May 26 on the occasion anniversary of the discovery of oil in Iran, the head of pumping station No. 2, Reza Alavi said, Trend reports citing National Iranian Oil Company’s information portal.
Alavi noted that the mentioned pump was produced in Iran for the first time and tested several times.
The official added that three large Iranian companies are producing 50 pumps on the Goureh-Jask crude oil pipeline.
Currently, pumping station No. 2 is being put into operation on Iran's Goureh-Jask crude oil pipeline, and work is underway to transport oil from this pumping station in direction to Jask terminal.
The construction of the 1,000-kilometer Goureh-Jask oil pipeline project worth more than $1.8 billion has been outsourced to local manufacturers and contractors. It is planned to transport 1 million barrels of crude oil per day via the pipeline.
It is planned to install 6 submarine pipelines, crude oil metering systems and 3 floating systems (SPM) at the Jask oil terminal in Iran. At the first stage, 1 metering system, two 36-inch pipelines and one floating system will be put into operation for the extraordinary operation of this terminal.
The injection of oil into the crude oil pipeline began on May 19, 2021. It will take about 1 month for the crude oil to reach the Jask terminal. In the coming days, daily 300,000 barrels of crude oil will start to be transported through the 1st phase of Iran's Goureh-Jask crude oil pipeline. With the launch of the 1st phase, it will be possible to transport up to 330,000 barrels of crude oil daily.
