Iran’s energy company outlines plan for gas output increase

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 9. Iran’s South Zagros Oil and Gas Production Company (SZOGPC) is projected to boost its gas output by an average of 166 million cubic meters per day in the second half of the current Iranian year (September 23, 2023 through March 19, 2024), Executive Director of the company Ali Montasari said, Trend reports.

He added that 7 million cubic meters per day of this increase will be attributed to the Aghar gas field.

Montasari also said that 98 million cubic meters of gas were produced daily from 208 gas wells in the territory of the South Zagros Oil and Gas Production Company during the first 6 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023). The total gas production from the company’s fields in this period was 18.3 billion cubic meters for the specified period.

The director noted that the Parsian operation point accounted for 48 percent of the gas production, the Nar and Kangan operation points for 24 percent, Aghar and Dalan operation points for 24 percent, and the Sarkhoon operation point for 4 percent.

The South Zagros Oil and Gas Production Company (SZOGPC) is one of three subsidiaries of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC). The SZOGPC currently has 9 gas fields - Aghar, Dalan, Nar, Kangan, Sarkhoon, Tabnak, Homa, Varavi, Shanol, and 2 oil fields - Saadatabad and Sarvestan under its management.
