BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 10. Azerbaijan refined 4.4 million tons of oil from January through August 2024 compared to 4.2 million tons of oil in the same period of 2023, the data of the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry said, Trend reports.
The oil is processed at the Baku Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery, which is on the balance sheet of SOCAR.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan produced 19.3 million tons of oil with condensate from January through August 2024, which is 1 million tons less than in the first eight months of 2023.
Out of the mentioned volume, 16 million tons were exported.
The refinery is capable of processing up to 6.5 million tons of oil per year.
