BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 14. Azerbaijan increased the oil refining volume from January through September 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's Energy Ministry shows that this figure equaled five million tons of oil compared to 4.9 million tons sent by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) for refining in the same period of 2023.
To note, the oil is processed at the Baku Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery [which is on the balance sheet of SOCAR].
The refinery is capable of processing up to 6.5 million tons of oil per year and releasing about 20 petroleum products.
