Iran's trade sector receives large loans from local banks

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 19. Local Iranian banks granted loans worth 3.49 quadrillion rials (about $83.1 billion) in the trade sector of the country during the first ten months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through January 20, 2024), Trend reports.

Data from Iran's Central Bank shows that the following loans were allocated in the trade sector:

- Working capital: approximately 3.05 quadrillion rials (about $72.5 billion);

- Development work: about 204 trillion rials (about $4.85 billion);

- Establishment of enterprises: 191 trillion rials (about $4.55 billion);

- Purchase of housing: 25.1 trillion rials ($599 million);

- Purchase of personal: 16.7 trillion rials ($399 million);

- Self-employment: 6.5 trillion rials (about $154 million);

- Repair work: 4.38 trillion rials ($104 million).

In total, the Iranian banks granted loans worth about 35.1 quadrillion rials (about $835billion) in various economic sectors within the first 10 months of the current Iranian year.
