ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 3. Azamat Kozhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Kazakh Invest, held a meeting with Dai Daogo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chinese company Hunan Junxin Environmental Protection, Trend reports.
The parties discussed the possibility of implementing a comprehensive project to build three waste-to-energy (WtE) plants in Kazakhstan. The total investment volume is estimated at $600 million.
During the meeting, Azamat Kozhanov informed about the activities of the national company and government support measures and assured full readiness to provide comprehensive assistance to the projects of the Chinese company. He also emphasized that Kazakhstan is interested in large-scale solutions combining environmental impact, technology localization, and sustainable energy generation.
“We see high potential for joint implementation of environmental projects that meet the best international standards. Junxin has significant experience, including successful projects in China and Kyrgyzstan, and can contribute to the development of ‘green’ infrastructure in our cities,” he said.
Dai Daogo articulated that the initiative aspires to not merely
establish processing capabilities but also to cultivate a
comprehensive technological ecosystem. He posits that, alongside
waste valorization, the development of eco-friendly data centers
fueled by energy derived from municipal solid waste thermochemical
conversion is on the agenda. The establishment of training hubs and
the deployment of advanced waste management frameworks are also in
the pipeline.
“Our objective transcends mere plant construction; we aim to
implement a groundbreaking paradigm in the realm of municipal solid
waste management.” Our objective is to integrate innovative
technologies in Kazakhstan that synergistically amalgamate
recycling processes, energy generation methodologies, and advanced
digitalization frameworks. He articulated a strong conviction that
this initiative will represent a pivotal enhancement to sustainable
development paradigms and ecological integrity within the
region.
Hunan Junxin Environmental Protection is currently executing a
parallel initiative in Bishkek and stands as a prominent player in
the private environmental sector within China. It focuses on the
development and management of waste-to-energy infrastructures,
