BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 15. In June 2024, Azerbaijan welcomed 265,549 foreign visitors, marking a 29 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023 (205,910 visitors), Trend reports.
According to the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan, in the reporting month of 2024, the top 10 countries by the number of foreign visitors to Azerbaijan included citizens from Russia (82,246 people), Türkiye (38,329 people), India (28,315 people), Iran (17,255 people), Saudi Arabia (14,707 people), Georgia (8,979 people), Kazakhstan (8,927 people), Pakistan (7,710 people), Uzbekistan (4,366 people), and Israel (4,201 people).
From January through June of this year, Azerbaijan hosted 1,231,104 foreign visitors, marking a 34 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023 (919,296).
In 2023, Azerbaijan recorded 2,086,548 foreign visitors, which was more than a 30.2 percent increase compared to 2022 (1,602,600).
To note, tourist arrivals in Azerbaijan for specific months of 2023 were: 119,094 in January, 113,473 in February, 136,505 in March, 154,233 in April, 190,081 in May, 205,910 in June, 224,826 in July, 200,138 in August, 192,115 in September, 187,843 in October, 169,461 in November, and 192,869 in December.
