BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 14. The influx of Turkish tourists to Azerbaijan in 2024 saw a significant uptick.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Tourist Agency of Azerbaijan shows that this figure reached 426,241, up 13 percent compared to 2023.
Besides, last December, 37,068 Turkish tourists visited the country, which is two percent rise from the previous year (36,372).
In 2024, Azerbaijan experienced an influx of approximately 2.6 million visitors, marking a year-on-year increase of 26 percent (2.08 million).
In 2023, Azerbaijan attracted 2.086,548 foreign tourists, a rise of more than 30 percent from 2022. Among them were 378,204 visitors from Türkiye, which represents a 21 percent increase from the previous year.
To note, a total of 1,957,285 travelers arrived from Türkiye to Azerbaijan between 2017 and 2023 (2017 - 301,553, 2018 - 291,259, 2019 - 316,404, 2020 - 160,513, 2021 - 197,472, and 2022 - 311,880, 2023 - 378,204).
